Love this concept. Really effective for this film. The flash backs and movement really tell a story in a short amount of time. Really enjoying this talented group. :D
Bren K. Posted 5 months ago
This is alright. Keep working at it guys. I look forward to seeing what you can do and think that you can do better.
James D. Posted 5 months ago
Epic
Emmy Kathryn D. Posted 5 months ago
Yooooo so good guys I was so amazed by this. In fact I was speecheless haha. Because I loved it so much.
sharon j. Posted 5 months ago
whoa I cringed dudes! that was pretty intense. something like this doesn't need dialogue - but great direction goes a long way!
Raj S. Posted 5 months ago
Despite the lack of dialogue, I found your sequence to be incredibly engaging. Well done and keep it up!
Crystal V. Posted 5 months ago
I totally dig the tone of this whole thing. And it almost reminds me of a weird Hunger Games side story.
Michael V. Posted 5 months ago
Hey this is really good to bring the emotional side of an action film come out - you really didn't need dialogue for this either! Great job.
Andrew O. Posted 5 months ago
For an action based movie it was good to see that you can strike a balance to tell the emotional side to the story.
David R. Posted 5 months ago
This was amazing, straight up the best speechless mission. I think you've established you are born story tellers
Lee V. Posted 5 months ago
That was perfect! You guys really know how to set the right mood with the quick cuts of flash backs.
Serena L. Posted 5 months ago
This is by far one of the best speechless missions - it really didn't need dialogue, and might've even been worse with it! Great job men!
Jacna J. Posted 5 months ago
That was really good, this makes me really excited to see the finished film! I really like all the shots!
Ron J. Posted 5 months ago
Ok, I'd say lose the masks, they don't really work (disguises). I'd also think about losing the bow and arrow, go with a silencer instead. Intrigued.
Kim M. Posted 5 months ago
Looks amazing!
Andrew S. Posted 5 months ago
Truly a moving scene! perfectly demonstrates the path of struggle and hardship to bring the change they need,
Darren F. Posted 5 months ago
This trailer really draws you in, it was the first thing I saw of Team Uprising, and it made me an instant fan, keep up the great work guys!
Ang C. Posted 5 months ago
One again another great mission. As I look through your work it seems like this group has a bright future.
Tessa V. Posted 5 months ago
That was really good, this makes me really excited to see the finished film! I really like all the shots!
Kurt P. Posted 5 months ago
This is really incredible. Probably one of the best speechless scenes on here - it almost would be worse had it used dialogue. Amazing work, guys.
Pam A. Posted 5 months ago
Well done! Looks like it is going to be a great film. Good luck in making the the next round of voting!
Heather O. Posted 5 months ago
It has been really interesting following the missions and seeing what each team will come up with. Good luck on the next round of voting.
Maureen M. Posted 5 months ago
An amazing scene from this movie. Would love to see how this plays out on the big screen. Keep it up.
Iris O. Posted 5 months ago
I'm always interested in what you as a team bring to each mission. This speechless mission was well shot and gave more of an emotional look to the plot.
MAK138 K. Posted 5 months ago
really well executed! great sdtk/sfx.
Celene C. Posted 5 months ago
Very interesting plot, a little along the line of Red Dawn, expect from this clip, it's obvious this takes place in the future, interesting concept, would love to see the full film.
LEE C. Posted 5 months ago
Well executed, told the story without words well
Sunny K. Posted 5 months ago
I think this mission was well done. I appreciate also that the blood wasn't overdone. Nothing pulls an audience out of the moment faster than that!
Alexa B. Posted 5 months ago
.. After planning a long, brutal uprising involving self sacrifice and the loss of his closest companions, Eli takes the blue pill... #fanfiction #thematrix
Roger G. Posted 5 months ago
After hearing one of the Showcase Showdown videos reference how amazing your Speechless video was I decided to come back and watch it. I'm so glad I did! One question though... was the point of this mission to make a trailer with no words or was it to make your audience speechless after watching?
Ralph M. Posted 5 months ago
Eventually the pain starts to fuel the motivation. Come Uprising Part 3 our hero is cutting himself to keep the edge. #FanFiction
Jolene K. Posted 5 months ago
like the sewing up but the punching is a little off
Paul B. Posted 5 months ago
might be the shivering.
Jonathan C. Posted 5 months ago
I love the comment below. This scene clearly shows their storytelling ability regardless of age - this scene was MEANT to be free of dialogue; any monologue thrown over top would've ruined it. I know these guys are young but they clearly know what they're doing!
Akash S. Posted 5 months ago
Thanks man!
Leanne B. Posted 5 months ago
Ok - just read a comment regarding the age of this team being a NEGATIVE AND A REASON WHY THEY SHOULD NOT WIN. Didn't realize there was a restriction on age for this competition. If there is, I would hope that the money and time these guys put into this project be promptly returned!
If you got it you got it doesn't matter how old you are. It's called NATURAL TALENT.
Seriously - if anyone were to watch this and not know the age of the film producers would it matter? NO! The end result matters correct? People would probably guess it was made by a much older, but really cool, team. This makes it all the more appealing.
The maturity of this team has been proven with profession mission responses that go over and beyond what most teams have produced. These guys are obviously thinking, working hard, and taking this very seriously which is MATURE.
Just the character depth alone in this project is ridiculously mature. Perhaps younger people are more in touch with emotions then the older folks.
Considering the biggest age group of people going to the theatre is 18-24 (apparently), you would think that age group would be all the more enthralled that this spectacular movie was fully created by a team of people their same age. It would seem to me that the age of this team could actually be used to promote this film. An asset.
Also, don't 18-24 year olds know what 18-24 year olds want?
That being said I know this film appeals to older age groups as well.
I think everyone would be racing to the theatre to see an amazing film made by young punks. Films made by older people - we've all been there done that! This is something new - unheard of - maybe a bit impossible! That is exciting.
If this film does not win because of age discrimination... that would not be very mature or professional.
Akash S. Posted 5 months ago
You know, that means so much to us Leanne! :)
It's true, we are young, but that's really not stopping us. If anything I think the industry could use a few radical young punks like us haha. I've always loved movies, making them is even cooler. Uprising is the movie we want to see in theatres, so we're gonna make it!
June B. Posted 5 months ago
Zach just looks way too happy about that blood, lol.
Leanne B. Posted 5 months ago
It's probably real. Ask him how to use a Machete. LOL
Kerri S. Posted 5 months ago
Love this concept. Really effective for this film. The flash backs and movement really tell a story in a short amount of time. Really enjoying this talented group. :D
Brenden K. Posted 5 months ago
The stuff you guys are producing just keeps on looking better and better, Keep up the great work guys!
June B. Posted 5 months ago
I agree! Each mission these guys are out of the gate with a vengeance.
Christopher K. Posted 6 months ago
The music in the trailer was very inspiring, it kind of reminded me of the lord of the rings. This is a great video.
Timothy C. Posted 5 months ago
Thanks so much!! Loved composing this piece. Definitely drew a bit of inspiration from the characteristic airy vocals in Lord of the Rings. :)
Sharon M. Posted 6 months ago
Love the bloody effects and how happy Zach is too to stitch himself ...lol!
Jackson B. Posted 6 months ago
Very cool indeed! This one certainly inspired a lot of emotion, and really left me wanting to see more!
Alejandro P. Posted 6 months ago
Great concept I like how the idea is transmitted on the video, the actors where great and could understand the concept from the beginning, the angles helped me a lot to get immersed into the plot, and get to understand the feeling that is supposed to be in every moment. Great job!
Lindsey D. Posted 6 months ago
Really enjoyed watching this mission video from you guys. Makes me believe that you guys can pretty much do anything.
Anita N. Posted 6 months ago
This is such an engaging mission video. It gives a good luck into the emotional side behind your project. Great work!
Martin V. Posted 6 months ago
This is pure proof that you, the uprising team can demonstrate emotion and a story without the use of dialogue. All from raw skills of cinematography and sound.
Jessica C. Posted 6 months ago
I absolutely love what you did with this mission. All of your videos are so so so well constructed and thought through. It is very intriguing and it left me starving for more! :) Keep up the good work! :)
TJ H. Posted 6 months ago
Really like this film and mission, I hope there is more to the story that is being presented though.
Timothy C. Posted 5 months ago
There most definitely will be a huge amount of content for a story! In fact, every time we get asked what Uprising is about, we can't seem to summarize it quickly enough because there's too much to talk about!
Mo G. Posted 6 months ago
This looks like an exciting film. Simply shot but with a fantastically complicated concept. Can't wait to see it.
Tawnya T. Posted 6 months ago
Your posters are probably the best out there but the video lacks feeling and tone. I need more to be hooked, engage me..
Kate G. Posted 6 months ago
Really like the looks of this film! Looking forward to seeing more. Wishing you and your team the best of luck!
Zaul M. Posted 6 months ago
I love the polish of your filmmaking stlye. very clean for such a low budget. Some of the shots dont work, but many are awesome!
Tory A. Posted 6 months ago
I like the music and the shots of his eyes looking straight at the camera. Eyes are always a good way to show emotion.
Lukee W. Posted 6 months ago
Not bad. Although this is not my style of film, it is not too bad, I think the acting could be stronger
Angela S. Posted 6 months ago
The use of flashbacks, and the cold setting and tone of the music draws the audience into this character world.
Joann K. Posted 6 months ago
I guess I am not a typical movie watcher, for lack of a better term. It feels dark In color not in tone. Best part was the arrow. Fight scene a little weak
Jane M. Posted 6 months ago
The sound track was awesome. Contrast with the visuals was visceral Also liked the black and white Congrats
Kiefer v. Posted 6 months ago
Beautiful footage and sound track collaboration, I really enjoy how well your team puts the final product together and engages the audience. Can't wait to see you in the top 10 and beyond! Go UPRISING! YOU DON'T KNOW ME! *Boom*
Ron K. Posted 6 months ago
Awesome soundtrack, very serene nice contrast with the violent visuals; you really nailed the mood for this Speechless mission. The wind and snow landscape really give Uprising a post nuclear feel, and the river helps with the separation of the Colony and the new society; filming in the summer would have been a totally different feel. I really like the six year flash back / flash forward sequences. It tells me the movie will be about how Eli Finn changes. The younger Eli’s smile contrasted with the older Eli’s grim hardened look really works for me. Good luck! I’m really expecting this to make the top fifteen in two days.
Bradley P. Posted 6 months ago
I'm really hoping this movie will get made. I'm curious of the events that lead to the film's story, and how it would be an allegory for this generation.
Panta M. Posted 6 months ago
I loved the trailer but i have to agree with others who said this was better than the trailer! Great cinematography and character depth!!! im very interested to see this project move forward. I am a big fan :)
TeamJessie P. Posted 6 months ago
This is very well done. I can see this making the finals, good luck to you all
Alexandra S. Posted 6 months ago
You continue to impress me at every turn. I just can't get over your age - you are all incredible!!
Leanne B. Posted 6 months ago
The clear winner. Everything was perfect. Amazing music, cinematography, character depth, emotional intensity, the story is building and it was speechless! Excellent work!
Jeremiah K. Posted 6 months ago
I am loving where this is going, even though this is sort of reminiscent to a dream I had once, I’m sure. Kinda gives me goosebumps.
Timario M. Posted 6 months ago
This was wayyy cooler than the trailer!!! Its won me over a bit
Cat R. Posted 6 months ago
I agree. Team Uprising has been evolving and growing exponentially with each mission. Talent, ingenuity, creativity and MYSTERY. Love every intense second of it!
Timothy C. Posted 6 months ago
Awesome!! Glad you like it, because this is definitely a much better representation of what Uprising really is! Excited to release our new trailer on Monday!
Riley W. Posted 6 months ago
Great job Uprising. You told a great story within the time allotted. I see some great filmmaking coming from Uprising. Keep it up! Team BAD
Vance A. Posted 6 months ago
I'm really encouraged to see such great work coming out of Edmonton
jane D. Posted 6 months ago
best of luck
Chad M. Posted 6 months ago
The music matched the scene okay but would have liked to hear a bit of sound effect from the gun to break it up a little and a bit of desperation or excitement to it.
Zaid L. Posted 6 months ago
Very well done, it is quite thought provoking and emotionally moving. Music fit the scene perfectly. Keep up the good work guys!
Laurie S. Posted 6 months ago
I'm not sure what's going on but I think at least he's been here before. Both at that location and possibly on the inside as well.
Dave S. Posted 6 months ago
That looks awesome guys. Tim, did you do the background music in this video? It sounds incredible. I love it. Keep it up bro.
Timothy C. Posted 6 months ago
Yep did all the music for the trailer and all the missions. :) Thanks, glad you like it!
Jennifer K. Posted 6 months ago
Love the intensity ....Wow! I want to see the movie.
John W. Posted 6 months ago
Nicely done,Good flashbacks that tell a story in themselves. Something is going on but I'm not sure what it is. I'll have to investigate.
Stacey A. Posted 6 months ago
Definitely one of my favourites!
Sarah W. Posted 6 months ago
Really awesome guys! I love continuously following your work, it just keeps getting better. Love the soundtrack!!
Gill R. Posted 6 months ago
Really nicely shot. My only criticism so far would be that having watched the trailer, speechless and genesis videos I still don't have enough of a background about the enemy and that whole situation to have much empathy for the characters.
Dinah H. Posted 6 months ago
Wow! I thought the music was an excellent choice. It really created the mood for the various scenes. I am definitely curious as to what the story is here and how it will unfold. All of the fight/gore scenes were incredibly believable as well.
Tah the T. Posted 7 months ago
Interesting. A bit hard to follow for me, personally, as the flashbacks seemed disjointed and confusing, but I assume that it would be easier to follow in a full film with more context.
Jeremy L. Posted 7 months ago
I love to see the motivation behind the choices people make. The making of Eli as it were. The toll it took on him physically and mentally. I want to see this movie made
Lindsay F. Posted 7 months ago
I really enjoy the flashbacks! I also like how you demonstrated the passing of time with the updated 'tag' on the rock. Well done!
Jaimie C. Posted 7 months ago
Wonderfully done guys! The speechless mission highlighted the strength in your storytelling capabilities. The music, design, editing, everything pulled me in to the story and I definitely want to see your film get made!
Ryan D. Posted 7 months ago
This shows the talent and potential behind this film when so much is communicated about the character's depth, storyline and emotion without any words. Well done!
Nancy G. Posted 7 months ago
Great use of music, fantastic special effects and make up work with no budget. Well done. I can only imagine what you could do with a little money.
jack k. Posted 7 months ago
Great make up and fighting scenes, no problem obviously with speachless. The one where the friend was dying was hard to watch, very touching.
Enzo V. Posted 7 months ago
This was excellent, I get the sense you guys are rounding into your own with each mission. Nice score and editing.
mandy b. Posted 7 months ago
Very well done, the scenery is really cool until it widens up and you see all the trees cut down. It's very sad, but I would love to see the final product of this Doc.
Matt S. Posted 7 months ago
Nice work!!
Ron K. Posted 7 months ago
Well done
Shafer C. Posted 7 months ago
I want to see this movie made!!! The score really got its chance to shine on this. Everything you've uploaded is looks great!
David A. Posted 7 months ago
Not too bad guys! Also very Nolan-esque which is pretty cool. Wish we got a little more of a sense/insight into the world they live in.
Louise M. Posted 7 months ago
This video captured my attention right off the bat with the sense of loneliness and trials already faced. The impression is of a battle past, but perhaps a bigger one yet to come. Ending with the second carving and date makes me want to know more about what happened in the intervening 6 years!
Akash S. Posted 7 months ago
Awesome :)
Peggy G. Posted 7 months ago
A very powerful mission video. You guys did a great job delivering your message in a profound way. Well done!
Bente H. Posted 7 months ago
Haunting music - great choice, well done.
Leanne B. Posted 7 months ago
Love it AND I like the bow and arrow. It's refreshing especially for a story taking place in the future. Thank-you for not using laser guns.
Andrew H. Posted 7 months ago
This is definitely one of the projects I'm pulling for. These kids show some real promise in filmmaking
Jose H. Posted 7 months ago
Hello Definitely intriguing, making an excellent use of your location and materials available to you. I'm also a fan of the make up! keep up the good work!
Gail M. Posted 7 months ago
Certainly a realistic flow of blood. Move on don't look back.
Tammy B. Posted 7 months ago
Not bad at all but the fight scene is very fake and I didn't care much for the blurry scenes, I think you could have shot better and used better lighting and color but I like the concept
Katie B. Posted 7 months ago
looks great again. you guys are really talented and your movie is one of the most interesting and professional looking in the contest
Timothy C. Posted 7 months ago
Fantastic, I'm so thrilled that you're excited about Uprising! Glad you think the look is professional and are interested :)
David B. Posted 7 months ago
This seriously may have changed my mind about you guys - there is some defiantly cool shooting - not my kind of movie but you defiantly captured some cool visuals!!
Akash S. Posted 7 months ago
That means a lot David! Our trailer, as much as we had fun making it, was premature (for lack of a better word), and as we progress through the Cinecoup Film Accelerator, our project keeps evolving. If you aren't too much into action, thats totally okay, there is a huge amount of story and some really relatable characters here.
One of the biggest themes in Uprising is growing up and figuring out how to deal with life in general (i.e. relationships, goals, morality). I truly think there is something for everyone here, I'd love for you to see Uprising as a fully developed project!
Nancy R. Posted 7 months ago
Thought the sound track really added to the mood of the scenes. The cinematography is fantastic and a plus. Liked the contrast between the two time periods.
patricia s. Posted 7 months ago
good choice of music
Geoff W. Posted 7 months ago
I agree with Clutch too; maybe it could just be face paint, or a shred of a flag, or even a full face mask taken from pop culture? (ski mask even)... I also think it would have been cool to cut to macro shots of the character's blade slicing into the rock in the "present day" rather than just his brooding face... always more fun to see actions than people pursing their lips ;) (See the beginning of City of God, where the blade is being sharpened to kill the runaway chicken, if you're wondering what I mean). All in all though I'd say this is a great piece! (please use squibs rather than after effects for the blood on the day though... digital blood never fails to take me out of the film and make me change the channel
Akash S. Posted 7 months ago
Love your comment! We are looking into some costume modifications and you gave some great suggestions.
I know what scene you are talking about from City of God, and i think with some more time and planning we would have definitely done something like that.
Thanks for letting us know what you think Geoff!
andrew m. Posted 7 months ago
i agree with clutch.
Clutch W. Posted 7 months ago
Some good cinematography here, and the montage is more coherent and focused than some of the others I've seen. Still not sure about the uprising story yet...but this was more effective for me than the preview. One thing - I'd say change the masks. The little black masks. They don't look cool enough for your rebel-heroes. They make me think of Chris O'Donnell in Batman & Robin, and nobody wants that!
Timothy C. Posted 7 months ago
Awesome, we're definitely looking into costume changes, as well as other things to make our film as likeable for fans. Glad you liked it and found it more entertaining than the trailer, hope you stick with us!
Akash S. Posted 7 months ago
Haha i am DEFINITELY considering your comment here :P, Batman & Robin was....unforgivable haha
Kirk S. Posted 7 months ago
Well done. Great suspense. Uprising is definitely one of my favourite projects and it should have no problem advancing to the next round. Keep up the good work.
Aaron M. Posted 7 months ago
Nice work guys. Gives us a sense of where we're coming from and where we're going and it's emotional at the same time.
Liz H. Posted 7 months ago
I love the speechless scene, can't wait to see more!
Donald Y. Posted 7 months ago
Well done. A history account with really great music. It has fine production values, and moves forward at a good pace. It has to be one of the best on this mission. I like it an awful lot and would like to see more.
Cat R. Posted 7 months ago
I just watched a bunch of "speeches" clips -- Uprising is BY FAR the most well-done, moving and intriguing, IMO.
Lori M. Posted 7 months ago
I thought that the flashbacks and the present violence presented a marked contrast and really drove home the idea of lost innocence, Also, wonderful choice for music.
Cat R. Posted 7 months ago
And the music is amazing -- very, very powerful and moving, yet completely fitting and appropriately matched to the content. I'm a big fan of your work.
Cat R. Posted 7 months ago
You had me mesmerized the entire time! Well done in content, pacing, and effects on zero dollars. In the 1:37 minutes, I had emotions all over the map -- moments of intrigue, shock, and reflection, which means your job was well-done. Honestly fellows, I don't know a more creative, intelligent, put-together team of three guys under 20 years old! Your future is bright!
jordan m. Posted 7 months ago
Uprising is like Barney from how I met your mother........ legen...... Wait for it...... Dary!
Josh R. Posted 7 months ago
Awesome Work Guys!
Cameron L. Posted 7 months ago
Love the gore! Looks fantastic! I also really like the back story idea, the whole loss of innocence idea is always a good one because everyone can relate.
Patrick C. Posted 7 months ago
I really like this.Best production of any Mission 4 I have seen so far. My suggestions are to be a bit more subtle, hold the scenes longer before cutting away, and I am not a fan of shaky camera work. Too much blood, just be subtle. And keep the city skyline out of focus and it will look more realistic. Great work guys. Keep it up.
Akash S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks so much for the feedback Patrick! I'm glad you pointed out all that. We're definitely considering everything you said!
Patrick C. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks for the reply. This project is growing on me.
Dalton P. Posted 7 months ago
Loved the score in line with the despair and perhaps hope that evolve down the road from what has transpired from the violence and death
Amanda R. Posted 7 months ago
I feel like the typical thing for Eli to do after a flash back is to form a master plan to keep moving forward with the "Uprising."
Paul H. Posted 7 months ago
Well done guys. Well crafted and edited and tells the story. The flashbacks (often overused) felt right here.
Gabi D. Posted 7 months ago
Love the gore, love the haunting background music - good job people!
Paulina J. Posted 7 months ago
The scene evokes so much emotion. I enjoyed how it began and ended in a similar way with engraving of the year
Timothy C. Posted 7 months ago
Always full circle :)
Sarah T. Posted 7 months ago
Great music, great emotionality, great blood. Compelling and moving. Makes me want to see the finished product! Good work, everyone.
Jackson M. Posted 7 months ago
Dat trailer...
Justina P. Posted 7 months ago
love the blood. very realistic violence. i was right into it the whole time. bravo guys! Youre doing well.
Helena H. Posted 7 months ago
Once again, excellent work :)
Matthew L. Posted 7 months ago
Wow. I couldn't take my eyes off this whole sequence at all. First piece I've seen from this group. Made me go through your trailer and your missions. Nice work
Akash S. Posted 7 months ago
That's so nice to know! :)
Jolene S. Posted 7 months ago
Very original compared to some of the other videos this week. I am interested in seeing how this plot develops.
hailey w. Posted 7 months ago
Looking good boys :)
Cas L. Posted 7 months ago
Awesommmeee :D
Kiera P. Posted 7 months ago

Siobhan G. Posted 7 months ago
Looks SO SICK.
Mitchell S. Posted 7 months ago
eww blood...
Jeremy J. Posted 7 months ago
The behind the scenes were perfect !
Janelle S. Posted 7 months ago
I think I'm in love. This is great the effects are getting better and better.
Jonathan K. Posted 7 months ago
these boys!
Joel M. Posted 7 months ago
So pumped to see the whole movie!
Alyssa L. Posted 7 months ago
Everything looks amazing!
Ross A. Posted 7 months ago
Really really cool. I'm liking where this is going. Keep up the great work guys.
Raye W. Posted 7 months ago
Super great job guys! I loved this scene, keep it up!
Kyle F. Posted 7 months ago
That was amazing! This scene reminds me that no matter what's going on time can still change any aspect of anything. Can't wait for is to be done and released!
Jonathan M. Posted 7 months ago
the fact that there is no speech, shows how great this scene really is! you can see the emotions, rather than hearing them! required absolutely no dialogue! this is an amazing scene!
Meagan P. Posted 7 months ago
You guys...Good grief I liked this a lot. I love when a scene doesn't need any dialogue and you still understand it 100%. You all are so talented. Great work :)
David U. Posted 7 months ago
I really like the how nitty gritty this is, but it isn't just meaningless fighting, the scene shows the emotional struggles and conflicts that come from violence, and I LOVE IT!
Eric T. Posted 7 months ago
This scene is really well done. The fact that there's no dialogue tells a better story than if there were words. Also the music is fantastic. It still blows my mind.
Timothy C. Posted 7 months ago
It's nice to know that you felt this scene almost required no dialogue rather than feeling like it could've used it! Awesome that the music sets the mood so well for you, and glad you like it!
Shannon E. Posted 7 months ago
I love the way you used flashbacks for backstory in a video that doesn’t use words. Message received. I love the idea of this movie!
Shannon P. Posted 7 months ago
This video kind of makes me sad. This looks like a really deep movie and it would be great to see it in the theatres, or at least the whole thing as it’s been written.
Akash S. Posted 7 months ago
I'm glad you think it has potential to be a big-screen movie, so do we :)
Fraser C. Posted 7 months ago
Great job! Music was cool, I loiked the concept, the one area I could say could use improvement was the stunts and the fight bits. But definitely want to see more!
Shannon E. Posted 7 months ago
Speechless, indeed! I loved how this mission video was put together. There is a cool-factor to this movie concept but this video shows more of the storyline on an emotional level. Good job!
Clayton P. Posted 7 months ago
The score really set the mood and the scene is heavy with emotion. These types of stories live and die on their characters. If they become too cliched, the story becomes really boring. I hope that you guys can develope your main character really well into an interesting individual!
Tony S. Posted 7 months ago
Good scene. Looks great - your stuff always does - and moving score too. Think the toughest thing for you is how you set this apart from Hunger Games and Arrow. The look feels so close...
Akash S. Posted 7 months ago
There really isn't much of Hunger Games here, that movie is more about a tournament where kids are pit against each other I believe, very similar to Battle Royale. I think the similarity people see is the disparity between a higher society and a smaller one, but that is not specific to that film, we see it every day in the present day.
Our costume was based off Robin Hood, as our main characters are essentially outlaws who take a stand on behalf of the people. There is a dash of Zorro in there too to get more of that make-shift vigilante in there. We haven't drew any inspiration from the DC comic superhero you mentioned because these young men aren't superheroes, regular guys who are just trying to make a difference while hiding their identities.
Channy K. Posted 7 months ago
love the intensity you can really feel the emotions while watching!
Ben S. Posted 7 months ago
I like the tone you went with for this. It could easily have been overly stoic, "heroic", and cheesy. Its good that you looked at your characters challenges.
Leta P. Posted 7 months ago
Your music and sound are setting the scene to go on this journey. Excellent work and continue with gusto on this journey
Lucas P. Posted 7 months ago
I thought the scene was great until the guy was getting beat on the ground. It seemed really fake. Didn't seem to fit with the theme. If you had pulled that entire part out I think the scene would have been better.
Timothy C. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks for your input Lucas! The beating on the ground was fairly essential to what we were trying to tell - that this Uprising that Eli has gotten himself into not only hurt him, but also hurt his closest friends.
I agree that the fight scenes could've maybe looked a bit more professional (maybe we could've used different angles), however keep in mind that all our actors are currently temporary and we don't have a huge selection of actors at the moment - I think acting will be one of the biggest parts in making Uprising more believable visually, so when it comes to making it we'll definitely seek out professional acting as well as action/fight choreographers!
Glad you liked everything else though!
Lucas P. Posted 6 months ago
Fair enough, I guess it just pulled me out of the experience a bit. The rest of the clip looked so professional that the scene really stood out in a bad way. Good luck going forward!
Norma H. Posted 7 months ago
The opening had me feeling with the character but then I was confused as the Speechless continued. The fight scene was a bit ametuerish
Akash S. Posted 7 months ago
We were going for more of a raw fight scene look, instead of nicely choreographed fighting, because we really want to pull out the realism in it, and we figure sometimes real fighting might not be too appealing haha
Thanks for your input!
Natalia N. Posted 7 months ago
I thought your score was fantastic. Really enjoyed this scene. Left me with goosebumps.
Matthew J. Posted 7 months ago
Definitely enjoyed the story of his life through his memories. Gave a good view into his life and where your movie is headed. Once again another great mission!
Kevin P. Posted 7 months ago
Is this an action movie? Why doesn't it sound like one? Its good to be quiet sometimes but I wanted an aural challenge, I wanted some heavy music and action at the end of this trailer to get my blood flowing.
Sorry guys, the quiet stuff was good though.
Zachary V. Posted 7 months ago
Action is only one of the many genres packed into Uprising, we have a HUGE storyline that addresses the many hardships of making a difference in this world. We can't always be smashing helmets against concrete! Thanks for the feedback Kevin..
John K. Posted 7 months ago
Smart and well done. Strangely I think I like this better than your actual trailer. It has more emotional impact.
Shaelyn L. Posted 7 months ago
The music in this really sets the tone for the scene, and in a short amount of time you've done something really powerful. I'm looking forward to learning more about Eli's journey :)
Jeremy L. Posted 7 months ago
very powerful sequence. completely agree with other postings, great job. Drew me in deeper
Tim R. Posted 7 months ago
This is awesome! Gives so much more insight to Eli, and honestly I liked it much better than the original trailer. Look like you guys are really improving - you get my vote!
Emily H. Posted 7 months ago
I love how the video weaves through his memories as the transition in storyline. IN this approach, the character is given more depth through some agonizing past scenes that show how his life and the lives of his friends has completely changed. Great way of telling a silent story.
Colin Y. Posted 7 months ago
You guys are nailing it every week. The score, effects, and visuals were so strong and this was one of the few scenes that I felt didn't truly need dialogue in any way. Awesome work!!
Rita M. Posted 7 months ago
vow ! each time is better than the other, keep it up...
Lydia F. Posted 7 months ago
I'm impressed! Effects + score made that quite powerful.
phil d. Posted 7 months ago
Like the way you used the graffiti of his old life to contrast his new one.
Elizabeth S. Posted 7 months ago
Wow guys! The effects are awesome. Score is really well done, keep at it!
Kim Y. Posted 7 months ago
Very cool guys! I really like the quick cut editing and the makeup effects...Also the character design is pretty sweet!
Jacob J. Posted 7 months ago
wow guys, I am speechless. I am stunned every time I see a new scene. very, well done.
Nanci L. Posted 7 months ago
love the score - but too much violence for my taste! effective use of graffiti and younger looking actor to show time lapse
Brent L. Posted 7 months ago
All of your special effects continue to impress all of us. Please keep up the great work. Look forward to more
Teague P. Posted 7 months ago
Really amazing special effects. Music sets the tone perfectly and the flashback added a really good element to the scene.
Lisa B. Posted 7 months ago
The special effects were incredible. And if this is the way that you show a flashback type thing, I can't imagine to see a whole movie on it. Incredible!
Brock S. Posted 7 months ago
Some of the best Special Effects Ive seen in the competition. Gives an element of story and importance without giving too much away. You guys are really impressing me thus far, keep it up I see you doing well!
Patrick G. Posted 7 months ago
love the lighting contrast from the past and present. Great makeup. Great soundtrack. Great Talent. Chilling.
Nathan F. Posted 7 months ago
I am a fan of scenes in movies where you have a soft vocal track over an action sequence. Really pulled me in. Interested in seeing more.
Kristie M. Posted 7 months ago
This is a really fantastic sequence. You tell a captivating story. I tip my hat to your editor. Great works as always.
Samuel B. Posted 7 months ago
Looks amazing. I'm excited to see the finished product
Luke M. Posted 7 months ago
Im gonna be totally honest here... This is completely 100% awesome! You guys are doing absolutely great!
Andrea L. Posted 7 months ago
A wonderful glimpse into this character. It's amazing what these guys can do in just a week.
Roman G. Posted 7 months ago
I love the feelings this scene transmits. Everything fits just perfect and even in this short amount of time it got me.
Kaitlyn M. Posted 7 months ago
Simply breathtaking. Yet another piece of fantastic work done by you guys, nailing all the elements. Amazing use of music, sound and visuals to tell your story without dialogue.
Donal O. Posted 7 months ago
Another team who is just on fire. Your storytelling is masterful and I'm very impressed. Eleven chars to go. :-)
Darren R. Posted 7 months ago
Congrats guys on an excellent job. Very nice storytelling and exceptional shooting. You've done an excellent job throughout the competition and should be very proud of yourselves. Hopefully be talking to you in the top 40. #absolutionmovie
Tawni B. Posted 7 months ago
That was really beautiful. So much happened there, history, love, pain, loss. In films like this, there's a rise, filled with hope. Then reality sets in with loss and anger. Then another fight, with nothing left to lose and you realize what it actually takes to beat the other guy. I can't wait to see the beat down.
GJR Superfan ^.^
Bernice G. Posted 7 months ago
What a great scene! Visuals were good, the music was a good choice, It set the mood and pace well. Great job.
Casey P. Posted 7 months ago
the really like the use of the matte painting to set your scenes the music and sound to a good job at setting the mood and pace
Zolie G. Posted 7 months ago
Really well done guys. Good use of cuts and images and score. All of it worked to impart the story and vision.
Keri M. Posted 7 months ago
What a great scene - loved the choice in music. Nice to see a glimpse into the main character and his history.
Nathan M. Posted 7 months ago
Fantastic score, amazing score. The heroes memories scenes and the contemplation of why they start on their journey are some of the best non speaking moments in all hero films.
Timothy C. Posted 7 months ago
Agreed! We were quite happy with our choice to do this scene. Glad you liked the score!
Nathan M. Posted 7 months ago
No I LOVED the score. should put it up on your YouTube page just as a separate piece.
Shane T. Posted 7 months ago
Visually great stuff you guys. Some great production value and what seems like a talented team at work.
Holly F. Posted 7 months ago
the music is very cool. together with the visuals, it's quite dismal and melancholy. uncomfortable. sad.
Timothy C. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks so much Holly! Glad the music did it's job :)
Jac r. Posted 7 months ago
I don't totally get it, but nice shallow focus and the city looks cool, and i like the music quite a bit.
Akash S. Posted 7 months ago
I'm glad you liked the music and the visuals! Essentially the main character looks back on what his life has become, and how things have changed (going from smiling child appreciating the scenery, to harsh combat whilst fighting in a revolution and coming home wounded). We wanted to depict that juxtaposition between lifestyles and that loss of innocence.
Bernadette C. Posted 7 months ago
You did a good job of depicting his inner struggle with the use of flashbacks. I thought the cold setting was a good touch, as well.
Laurel L. Posted 7 months ago
There is a defining moment in our youth where we enter adulthood with all of its bruises and blemishes. This moment for your character Eli is poignantly delivered. Well done young rock stars!
Akash S. Posted 7 months ago
My friend, you got it, it makes me so happy that someone fully understood the message of the scene :)
Patti D. Posted 7 months ago
I like this much better than the original trailer. The project is coming along well. Your flashbacks helped develop the character for me!
Akash S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks so much Patti! Uprising is evolving, the concept trailer was simply our proposal, I'm glad you are getting more familiar with it now!
Patti D. Posted 7 months ago
I've got the basic storyline, the characters (good guys vs bad guys), the goal (freedom), now for that epic movie moment... I have no doubt that you can do it - good luck!
Ada K. Posted 7 months ago
This was good , lots of tension in showing how Finn has changed in order to fight for what he believes in . He's no longer the boy in the flashback..
Carolyn K. Posted 7 months ago
Loved the use of the flashbacks/flash-fowards to convey the tension, fear and anxiety of the character. Makes me want more!
Brenda L. Posted 7 months ago
I like how you moved between the here and the then. Captured the emotion well I think and I liked the scene looking towards the city scape.
Luke B. Posted 7 months ago
Don't know if I liked the sound effects for the hits, but other than that, I liked it.
Timothy C. Posted 7 months ago
All good, thanks for the feedback. Glad you liked it otherwise! :)
Sarah N. Posted 7 months ago
Wow I cant wait to see more. Music was great, acting was great. There was something about the fight scenes that seemed more realistic.
Akash S. Posted 7 months ago
That's awesome you noticed that Sarah! These guys aren't super heroes, they come home with bullet wounds and bruises and aren't extremely skilled at fighting haha. Their hearts are golden though!
Alan N. Posted 7 months ago
this is a really good speechless. good acting and cinematography. can't wait to see what is to come. good luck in the top 40
Shannon H. Posted 7 months ago
Great use of music and flashback/forward sequences to set the tone of your film. Go easy on the blood and I look forward to seeing more.
Akash S. Posted 7 months ago
The full movie isn't overly violent, we are watching out for that. We like to think of this scene as a "test" screening for the content in scene, so I'm glad you are letting us know how you feel, we'll definitely try to not go overboard with the blood in the future :)
Bob C. Posted 7 months ago
This was a brilliant peice right here guys! The music really added to the emotion in the scenes! Great work - you impress me each week!
Timothy C. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks! Glad to see that it seems I'm doing my job well. :)
Rick J. Posted 7 months ago
Good work guys! You left me speechless! Good music, good direction, you guys do a great job every week! Good luck Top 40
Tim T. Posted 7 months ago
Nice work guys. Aside from a few odd cuts and not totally buying the guy on the ground getting punched in the face, the music and cinematography were actually pretty effective. Keep up the good work.
Timothy C. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks a bunch, appreciate the compliments and feedback!
Lisa A. Posted 7 months ago
this is pretty well done. I enjoyed the cinematography and it's well edited to the music. But the content for this one (and the costumes) still feel too familiar for me.
Akash S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks for the comment Lisa!
The costumes for our main characters are meant to resemble the look of Robin Hood, that is where we drew our inspiration from. There is a bit of Zorro in there with they eye-mask and the colour black though ;)
Although the notion of revolution and societies separated by wealth have appeared in many works of fiction, you can have my guarantee as the writer/director that Uprising does it in a new and original way, one that isn't overly action oriented but more character based.
I urge you to give us a chance to prove this to you Lisa, thank you! :)
Derick M. Posted 7 months ago
good job as always guys. if i were to note anything, the wide shot at around 0:55 of the punches steals some power from the bad guy, and i would have gone with a slightly different angle for 1:09. nothing major, just nit picking for my taste :p
Akash S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks for letting us know what you think Derick!
Lesley C. Posted 7 months ago
Woah, intense. Beautiful cinematography and great acting. You definitely told the story well here. Thanks!
Akash S. Posted 7 months ago
No thank YOU! haha
Rachel L. Posted 7 months ago
Music definitely set the mood - nicely done Tim.
I really liked the cuts between the two characters and how it came back to him carving the name at the end.. brought it all together nicely.
Definitely got me attached to the character. i can't wait to see more! Keep up the good work guys
Lindsey M. Posted 7 months ago
Excellent sequence here. You've demonstrated an understanding of the A/B sequence and perfectly executed it to have the audience wanting to know more. Bravo.
Akash S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks so much we really appreciate it!
Paul H. Posted 7 months ago
this looks really good! the scene where Zachary is removing the bulletwound works really well! i have some experience with fake wounds, and they are actually really hard, great work
Timothy C. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks! I wasn't around for when they shot that scene, so I was also thoroughly impressed with Zach's make-up work for this scene! :)
Mark V. Posted 7 months ago
I'm just blown away by how the music track makes it so much more emotional. and the blood looks real. Also loving the arrow in the neck shot :)
Cody K. Posted 7 months ago
This is great! -The Last Video store
Jessica L. Posted 7 months ago
Very intense, but it really represents the character well and gives us a preview of what he'll be like in the movie.
Chris L. Posted 7 months ago
This is well done, captured the insight and thought process of your character. Good job on the video!
Bryan E. Posted 7 months ago
So much history. I really loved your approach to this; showing his past and his future and how he is dealing with this change. Outstanding all!
Akash S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks so much! Really glad you understood it :)
Sue T. Posted 7 months ago
You guys are AMAZING!! The music is fantastic, the editing is spectacular, I can't wait to see the full film!
Ross W. Posted 7 months ago
wow that scene was really well-structured and told a good story for your character. Good editing, music and directing! Nailed it.
Nikola R. Posted 7 months ago
Great acting. Great job a little gross with the blood but I don't even know how to start on how well makeup was.
Akash S. Posted 7 months ago
Sorry if we grossed you out! haha. Our main actor Zach Vydra did all the blood effects himself, I still can't get over how well the bullet wound shot worked where he's performing doctor on himself haha.
Fabien W. Posted 7 months ago
Once again this is really good. I really like the flashback and the thinking. Very well done. No wonder why you guys are always at the top of the rankings...
Cai G. Posted 7 months ago
Very well done, i enjoyed it and was surprised you managed in such a short time frame seeing as your lead left four days in on vacation, and still saving your money as well. i like that you still keep us updated.
Don L. Posted 7 months ago
Really liked the passage of time element and the thoughts this provokes!
Gregory H. Posted 7 months ago
Definitely a good clip. Really enjoyed the music, perfectly suited. You really start getting a feel for the character and his background and personality. Great work!
Matthew S. Posted 7 months ago
Oh man so much action in such a short scene. So much going on! Definitely get to see how the main character is starting to shape up and what his inner conflicts are. Starting to see it as a real story. Great job guys
Tyler R. Posted 7 months ago
Holy smokes good job! Really well done. This one clip makes you really start to feel for the character..and really makes me want to see the movie!
Marianne M. Posted 7 months ago
Really well done scene with powerful images and effective editing. Can see that lots of work has gone into this.
Josh P. Posted 7 months ago
I think this is really cool. I thought the blood and wounds seemed really realistic.. Thought it was good. great job
Zachary V. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks Josh!!
Skye B. Posted 7 months ago
Oooh, that effect is creepy creepy. Really cool use of the materials you had in your scene. Also, the mood was wicked,
Brad D. Posted 7 months ago
Nice lighting in this one. Pacing was good, edit was solid. I thought the blood effects went a bit too far (That's a lot of blood in the guys mouth!) but otherwise a solid video this week. Things that worked : Stitching up his arm, looking at his hand.
Things that didnt: That arrow to the neck and the punching the guy in the face on the ground. Obviously you pulled the punch, but I just didn't believe it.
Akash S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks for letting us know Brad! As much as we were fully content with releasing this scene, there is always that experimental value to it where we do encourage constructive feedback. When we make the actual film we can make all the right choices thanks to hearing you commenters out!
Jerry C. Posted 7 months ago
Wow, you guys demonstrate some really professional film techniques, special effects and acting. Man I just loved this I cannot stop watching it. You guys make the best missions I could watch them all again. Great Job
Samantha L. Posted 7 months ago
Aww this was really good guys. Super moving. Granted sad humming music always gets my hairs tingling but it was well thought out and nicely acted.
Doug G. Posted 7 months ago
The more I see from Uprising, the more interesting it becomes. Though I liked the initial trailer, there seems to be more story to it than that first glimpse showed.
Timothy C. Posted 7 months ago
Glad our world is opening up past the trailer! We loved the idea behind this mission simply because it allowed us to show an even better representation of what Uprising is really about.
Cruella D. Posted 7 months ago
Very well shot. This could be the movie trailer. Leaves you haunted and wanting to see more. Bravo !!!
Andrew I. Posted 7 months ago
I'm really impressed with how well you're holding up with no budget. The scene does really well to separate the film from action movies that bank on the unrealistic too much - in that your scene deals with emotions and things I would imagine would be quite real in an uprising. Great job guys!
Jordan P. Posted 7 months ago
Wow... I think that this is really really really good. You guys do some good work. Very professional very cool :)
Paul D. Posted 7 months ago
great special effects work. That arrow through the neck was really cool. Still don't have a lot of empathy for the characters though.
Tim R. Posted 7 months ago
Wow.... just wow! very well done! I especially liked the music ;) That voice!!!!
Timothy C. Posted 7 months ago
Just beautifully sung!
Colin Y. Posted 7 months ago
That clip made me speechless.
Zachary V. Posted 7 months ago
Love the pun, thanks for your support!
Brenda T. Posted 7 months ago
Some very nice shots peppered in with some not so great ones. You guys packed a lot of shots into a minute and a half though. Nice job.
Heather G. Posted 7 months ago
It would be so difficult to go through an uprising and not being able to go back. I can't even imagine the pain he feels but this speechless clip gives me an idea. Now I want to know more about this character and what happens.
Jonathon C. Posted 7 months ago
Once again Uprising! There are some accomplished film makers in this competition that just can't quite keep up with your youthful determination and vision. Well done. ps. I was a little confused about the date name signature. At first I thought that you were suggesting the other character dies but then I thought I saw him sitting up recovering. Either way well done, SapienceFilm
Timothy C. Posted 7 months ago
Glad you caught that he didn't die in this scene! Loving the animations in Sapience's scene, amazing vfx
Jay R. Posted 7 months ago
Another great use of this Speechless Mission. The emotion conveyed with the music and the pure grit of the scenes is fantastic. Looking forward to more!
Carly T. Posted 7 months ago
I am really enjoying your guys work, I think this adds so much more to your movie and i'm excited to see where it goes from here.
Don T. Posted 7 months ago
Maybe i'm not as critical as some but i thought this was fantastic, and it really added to the story for me.
Chris C. Posted 7 months ago
The switch between 2055 Eli and 2061 Eli is fantastic. The cut does an excellent job of showing how the last couple of years have treated the character. My only complaint is the action. The skirmish with the guard at the beginning and the guy getting his face punched in just don't work. You guys seem to rise to each challenge thrown at you and I hope to see more. Keep it up.
Kelly G. Posted 7 months ago
Not bad, but the true test was to see how your superhero influenced movie filmed a fight scene and you look like you avoided it. From what I saw, it wasn't strong, and it would have to be next to perfect for a film of this magnitude. I like you guys a lot, you're passionate and obviously whip-smart, but I'm still dubious about this film. Good luck, guys.
Don T. Posted 7 months ago
can you explain your first paragraph more? why was the test to see how their superhero influenced movie filmed a fight scene? I'm not trying to argue i'm just asking what you mean? I just thought the mission was to have a scene without dialogue and to show how music and design can elevate it? I'm not saying the fight scene was fantastic but i'm just of the opinion that if they win and get the money then they can pay actors etc to improve scenes like that.
Kelly G. Posted 7 months ago
Oh, sorry for the miscommunication: I didn't mean I thought this mission was a fightscene, I just meant all superhero movies have the basic ability to have an exciting fightscene, which this did not.
My issue is that they sell this movie as huge in scope, but haven't really delivered. Certainly, I allot for their financial limitations but there's some really basic stuff they've showed inexperience on even within the field of art, animation, backgrounds, and effects (I'm in the games industry, this stuff is easy to spot) and, if they're directing, that inexperience will shine with 100 million budget. The fight was just one more thing.
These are seriously talented dudes, but there are other effect-based movies with stronger writers, directors, and effects teams on here that could actually make a movie for million (not b/c their ideas are better or anything like that, simply more practical for this contest's budget). I see this movie as far too ambitious, and the films they compare themselves to have all been much smaller in idea/scale.
Hope that clears it up :)
Akash S. Posted 7 months ago
Hi Kelly! Thanks for your comment! Uprising isn't a superhero movie, if anything its quite the opposite. We want out fight scenes to be nice and raw, as show that these young men (and a badass female character we have yet to see) go home with bullet wounds, bruises, and broken spirits. They do not have super powers. Granted they are athletic, but they are 100% human.
You are right when you say Uprising is ambitious, perhaps overly ambitious. The scope of the film is huge, but our approach is different from most blockbusters. Keep in mind this is not a Hollywood film, we are avoiding that formula. I apologize if this is being marketed as such though, sometimes we can't help making badass posters haha. We are making a film to have a fresh face in the Canadian film industry, something like this has never been done before.
You mentioned you weren't fond of our effects and artistic ability, and that's understandable. We aren't trained VFX artists, we may just seem like kids with a dream. But because we have spent next to nothing making the trailer and this scene, I believe if we did have some funding, we could hire more professional people to fulfill their roles and collectively achieve this vision, and that's why we are in Cinecoup. If we were capable of making the movie already we would not be here. I myself am used to directing dramas, but because Cinecoup is offering such a great opportunity to do something fresh, new, and bold, why make something as neutral as a standard comedy or drama (not to say those are bad genres, i love 'em)? Uprising has those elements and more.
I hope you can find it in yourself to have some faith in us, if not that's totally alright. We are young yes, but we are brave and we aren't scared. We can make Uprising for under a million because we won't blow it away on paying big name actors or letting the special effects get in the way of the story. We are ready to bring something new to this country's film industry.
I thank you for speaking your mind Kelly, I hope I managed to clear things up!
Karen T. Posted 7 months ago
Perfectly done in my opinion, I was drawn into this whole scene and no words were needed, A+ from me.
Trev F. Posted 7 months ago
Super cool. I got lost in the flashbacks, though and forgot this was a scene, not a trailer. Regardless I didn't want it to end. It feels like it's a prelude to the big finale. Am I right?
Stephanie K. Posted 7 months ago
Great trailer! The music fit perfectly with the mood you were going for, and the blood effects were impressive. Keep it up!
Jason M. Posted 7 months ago
I really like how you wear able to make us feel about the character's journey over the ten years as he starts out as an innocent boy and becomes the avenger that he needs to be to survive.
Bill G. Posted 7 months ago
Courageous lead character as he pits himself against insurmountable odds. Special effects - blood - necessary, I guess.
Grace M. Posted 7 months ago
so cool! times a gazillion
Kaylee R. Posted 7 months ago
you guys are amazing!!!! cheering you on all the way!
Matt S. Posted 7 months ago
You guys own SFX. Thank god you weren't around when I was 19.
Timothy C. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks a bunch Matt! Glad you love the sound design :)
jane D. Posted 7 months ago
i like this music was moving
Andy O. Posted 7 months ago
I was really impressed with the emotion that was conveyed. I'm just wondering where this is all going.
Simon H. Posted 7 months ago
Camera is shaky...acting not so good....backdrop looks nice
Em K. Posted 7 months ago
I like the genre. Your production design and acting, etc. look great. Are there any women in your movie?
Timothy C. Posted 7 months ago
Glad you asked! Don't worry, we've already planned out some huge female roles for the script, and can't wait to reveal them in our film! :)
Emma S. Posted 7 months ago
You boys are amazing.
Jolene K. Posted 7 months ago
I think you had your camera is in to close for the "punching" scene I did not see anyone him get hit once. but I did like the music chosen for this
Akash S. Posted 7 months ago
The reason that part of the scene is so hard to make out because this scene is very personal to our main character, and are seen as a blur as he watches how much his life has changed. I'm sure we will have some nice, clear stylized action at other points in the feature film :). Also our composer Timothy Choy made the song himself!
Gianna I. Posted 7 months ago
Great work guys! I love the view of the city!(Team Rosalind Revenge)
Meg C. Posted 7 months ago
This is unreal. Keep it up! You guys are awesome. :)
Colin T. Posted 7 months ago
Guys that was phenomenal. The music fit the scene perfectly and I feel like i learned more from watching this. Looks like he found the traitor....
Akash S. Posted 7 months ago
Haha we didn't put any implication of the betrayal sub plot in this scene, that's something that will remain hidden until people watch the full movie :P
Colin T. Posted 7 months ago
I rewatched it, my bad. For some reason I thought it was Eli beating up his fellow uprising member, but it wasn't. I shouldn't have missed that. Anyway, really well done, now I hope I can see the whole movie. Keep up the good work
John K. Posted 7 months ago
Nice job. This was well directed and acted and cut together nicely with the sound.. I am impressed with your skills and think you guys will go far regardless of the outcome of this competition.
Akash S. Posted 7 months ago
That really means a lot John!
Sam I. Posted 7 months ago
Sound design was unreal! Keep it up boys!
Timothy C. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks a bunch Sam!
Dan S. Posted 7 months ago
Great job guys. Score suits the imagery perfectly. Gives insight into the world of your movie. Really enjoyed it. - team PA
Timothy C. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks a lot! Glad you like the score. The suspense build in yours was awesome! Beautiful shots.
Kiefer v. Posted 7 months ago
I like it a-lot.
Tatiana Z. Posted 7 months ago
Wow, breathtaking job on sound design and music particularly. I'm not usually one for any sort of gore, but I feel like all that you did was justified, and not simply for the sake of itself. Very tasteful guys!
Janine F. Posted 7 months ago
Your team definitely hit the target with this one. Very beautifully filmed and the song was perfect.
Akash S. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks so much! Timothy Choy worked really hard to produce that score so I'm glad you liked it!
Glenna S. Posted 7 months ago
Breathtaking scene, guys. I'm interested in knowing which blood recipe you used, but I guess that's a trade secret ;)
Zachary V. Posted 7 months ago
We'll get in touch... ;) Thanks Glenna!
Lee H. Posted 7 months ago
You guys are going to start an "uprising" in the Canadian film industry haha. This scene is fantastic, nailed it. I wanna see you guys win this
Parker W. Posted 7 months ago
I am....speechless ;). The story here is huge, the project has grown since the trailer and I feel it will grow even more. Uprising ftw
Keith H. Posted 7 months ago
Nicely cut together, guys. Definitely evoked some great emotion and feeling and it was nice to see something not overtly effect driven. Best of luck.
Aiden C. Posted 7 months ago
Great visuals. Your practical effects work worked well in selling the shots. Also just really enjoyed the arrow in the neck shot.
Akash S. Posted 7 months ago
Haha we're watching out for making it too violent, but i really enjoyed working on that shot :P
Nellemarie H. Posted 7 months ago
Wow, truly intriguing! Really made me wonder what happened to this boy in the interim years to make him so dark. Great use of light and acting to convey mood of the scene!
justin H. Posted 7 months ago
Incredible music, amazing acting! You guys are releasing the perfect amount of information and story line to keep people excited week after week!
Grayson W. Posted 7 months ago
The music, the sound, the cinematography, the acting...wow. Amazing. Best scene with no dialogue for sure, totally got goosebumps! the perfect ratio of action and emotion!
Mark V. Posted 7 months ago
So amazing. it expands on everything the trailer had and added more. :)
Jonathan F. Posted 7 months ago
This keeps getting better with every release. Pure quality. I'm getting more and more excited to see the full movie!
Jordan S. Posted 7 months ago
Once again top notch guys. This is amazing, I have to say I agree with some of the other fans, this may be better than the trailer itself. Makeup is fantastic and its amazing how you guys spend 0$ on this.
Keep it up!
Timothy C. Posted 7 months ago
Uprising has grown HUGELY since the trailer, and we love getting feedback from everyone to make this likeable, look more professional, and overall more developed!
Michelle G. Posted 7 months ago
amazing job guys. no words but so moving. You've definitely got all the goods here - great soundtrack, great actors, great cinematography. I can't wait to see what you guys come up with next.
Christopher W. Posted 7 months ago
Wow...I think I misjudged this project. At first, I gave the trailer a lower review, citing the low production values, but you know what? This montage is a good piece of narrative storytelling. Sure, the filmmakers might have more ambition than their budget allows, but since when has being ambitious been a fault? Looking forward to this one now...
Timothy C. Posted 7 months ago
Awesome! I'm really glad we've changed your mind :) Granted we are pretty ambitious, but if you look at the first picture, we managed to make this scene with a small team of 4 people and exactly $0!
We hugely appreciate that you're following Uprising!
Rachel C. Posted 7 months ago
Wow! This was a very moving video! Good use of, well, everything - the music was perfect, the flashbacks - a haunting story told with no words needed! Your talent amazes me guys:D - Team Rock Bottom
Andre v. Posted 7 months ago
Great work guys. Builds well and the cutting back to the boy that was and the boy that is - very effective. (Life of a Locksmith)
Erik H. Posted 7 months ago
Liked the clip. the film seems pretty interesting. I would really like to see the finished product. Keep up the good work guys.
Michael L. Posted 7 months ago
That's pretty good when you guys conveyed the coldness, solitary tone of the story; echoed by the scratching of the name "ELI FINN" onto metal. The audio is done well.
Timothy C. Posted 7 months ago
Glad the audio sounds professional :)
Jane M. Posted 7 months ago
Great camera work and music. I felt the emotion and you used some interesting effects to keep telling the story..
June B. Posted 7 months ago
Love the sound design. The wind really gives you the sense of the character's isolation.Timothy is 'inside' the film with the textures of this mix. The vocalist evokes more solitude and adds a further ethereal quality. Nicely done!
Timothy C. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks June! Really got into this one while scoring/mixing sound, and I'm glad is shows!
Emmy Kathryn D. Posted 7 months ago
Oh my god the new thing made me almost cry. So good.
Timothy C. Posted 7 months ago
Looks like we achieved our goal! :) Glad you liked.
Afzal H. Posted 7 months ago
AMAZING!!! You guys are great storytellers. Love the soundtrack - it lets you connect with the protagonist, which is not an easy task for such a short piece. BRAVO!!!

Aww thanks! Much appreciated. Zach's our make-up guy, we have him to thank for that :)
Christopher F. Posted 7 months ago
I literally am speechless, Looks great, tons of emotion, I hate to say it but I think I like this seen better than the trailer itself!
Zachary V. Posted 7 months ago
You're not the only one that thinks that! Thanks Chris!
Alexa H. Posted 7 months ago
love love looove the soundtrack.. this scene really evokes emotion- we can see that the film is more than just action that's for sure!
Timothy C. Posted 7 months ago
Thanks!! Glad you liked the score :)
Allan W. Posted 7 months ago
Well done fellas... very cool, as expected! #i90Army
Timothy C. Posted 7 months ago
Appreciated!
Suzanna B. Posted 7 months ago
Guys, awesome work. Totally felt the emotion of the characters and story coming through, and invested in its progression. Props from Sapience!
Timothy C. Posted 7 months ago
Awesome - the emotion was what we were going for this week :) great visuals in yours, huge props to the vfx team you have!
Anita N. Posted 7 months ago
Good make-up and music effects. Can't wait to see more!
Andro W. Posted 7 months ago
The cinematic approach is definitely something I'd look forward too. Love the snippet- it got me wanting more!
Julia Y. Posted 7 months ago
Just... wow. Even devoid of dialogue it was anything but silent. If it wasn't for the Speechless challenge I honestly wouldn't have noticed it. Love the end. + knuckle shot was hcore.
Timothy C. Posted 7 months ago
Fun fact 4.1: our Production Designer Zach Vydra spends a lot of his time outdoors and figured he would get those scrapes anyway, so instead of makeup.... You can guess how dedicated he is to our film!!
Kris J. Posted 7 months ago
Great camera work and sound effects. The flash back scenes looked great! A lot of drama created with no dialogue!
Liam C. Posted 7 months ago
Awesome work again fellas!
Daniel F. Posted 7 months ago
Man this is awesome! Incredibly done.
Ian G. Posted 7 months ago
Wow Eli Finn is a champ. Great job guys, this looks amazing! That guy totally took one in the jugular
Zachary V. Posted 7 months ago

courtney n. Posted 7 months ago
I can honestly say I'm quite impressed by this speechless scene. Even without words, I felt the emotion behind the actions. Plus, its always great to see Daylen ;)
Seth C. Posted 7 months ago
Looks great guys, can't tell you how stoked I was to see a guy get arrowed. Really good drak brooding feel to it. Told the story and had something to look at. You guys are crushing. Grade Nine Dork
Sam L. Posted 7 months ago
Your storytelling is fantastic. This video gave me chills. You guys consistently create such amazing work on such a low budget. And I can't believe you guys composed/produced the score to this yourself - the music is amazing!
Timothy C. Posted 7 months ago
So glad you appreciate the score - it means a lot!! :) thank you!
Cat R. Posted 7 months ago
You composed and produced this music score yourself?!? Wow. Just wow. The music is so powerful, fitting, and why I got goosebumps. You are a talent, Timothy C.
Rick H. Posted 7 months ago
Extremely well done. Really increases my interest in seeing the movie when it comes out.
Zach L. Posted 7 months ago
Awesome work guys!
Sarah W. Posted 7 months ago

Tammy B. Posted 7 months ago
intriguing
Serena L. Posted 7 months ago
Wow incredibly real!!!! How was that done? All the wounds and bleeding!
Super touching
Timothy C. Posted 7 months ago
Mainly prosthetics/make-up from our main man Zach Vydra!
Cat R. Posted 7 months ago
The make-up and prosthetics are so believable and real looking. Seriously, the tissue around the bullet wound is incredibly well-done. Each member of this team seems to excel in their area of expertise.... and y'all are just beginning your careers. Good on you!
Daylen M. Posted 7 months ago
woah... amazing
Josh T. Posted 7 months ago
solid stuff boys. love it
Alex C. Posted 7 months ago
Awesome glimpse into the emotion behind what your character has gone through and the costs of fighting for what is right!
Joslyn P. Posted 7 months ago
I was very excited for your next mission, they all prove to be quite professional, and very very very entertaining. I really liked it, I really hope this film gets made because it looks really great
Joe M. Posted 7 months ago
What's extraordinary about this scene and sf time in general is how important silence is in conveying emotion.
