Davy Crockett Vs. The Bear: Davy Crockett fights a bear on the edge of a cliff. To achieve this effect in the feature, our team will rely on a locally made, highly detailed costume enhanced by visual effects and careful framing. Davy's fight puts him face to face with a giant, almost mythical Grizzly, one that is trained to hunt humans for its deadly master.

Davy Crockett & The Endless Winter: The Legend of Davy Crockett reinvents the character and retells one of his most famous tall tales in a new way. In the original, Davy saved Tennessee from endless winter by pouring hot oil on the sun. In our version, a Creek legend a long hidden magic stone has the power to unbalance life and bring endless winter. Davy must partner with his former enemy, the Creek, to restore Tennessee to its natural state.

Davy Crockett at Bledsoe's Fort: Along his journey, Davy must rescue a Creek Elder from jail at a nearby fort. When he arrives, he finds General Andrew Jackson is visiting and so he will have to contend with a military garrison in his prison break attempt. The old forts looked a lot like Fort Langley, which would serve as our practical location in the feature.

Davy Crockett's Great Journey: When partnering with the Creek, Davy must journey across a frozen lake to reach his destination. The scene is a nice change of pace from walking and riding, and is fairly simple to shoot. It has to be, because water work on films is costly and dangerous if stunts are involved. It offers an excellent opportunity to showcase some of the natural scenery that will be a co-star in the film.

Next Project

The Legend of Davy Crockett features a classic character, completely redesigned for a new generation of audience, along with fantasy and stylistic elements that even the trailer doesn't fully convey. It was important to partner with not one, but several artists to bring the trailer and the coming feature to life. Original artwork and storyboards for the trailer were by Thomas Ward, and brand new shots depicting scenes from the feature film were created by Jordan Boos. Jace Junggyu Kim, a Vancouver based artist, created an original oil painting of Ty Olsson for fans of the project.

Intriguing. I don't think I've ever seen a movie made on this kind of a character. Would be interesting to see it made.

Thanks Nima. Actually, fun fact, there's NEVER been a Davy Crockett feature film. The Disney TV productions were releases as a movie for a limited time, but they were made for TV and were more of an abridged biography than an adventure movie. Our aim is action, adventure and a touch of fantasy, to examine the myth and the man, not just explore his history.
