I think they should win - fantastic concept!
Rita M. Posted 5 months ago
I think you are so amazing and I wish you all the very best, you do not deserve less, cause you are the best
Jacob J. Posted 5 months ago
great work guys!
Leanne B. Posted 5 months ago
Best spin off in the competition. In my opinion, none of the other stories left in this competition can spin off like this story can. I used to have a Princess Leia toothbrush. Maybe my son will have an Eli or Scarlock toothbrush, or lunch kit or backpack or water-bottle or pjs or T-shirt...
Jolene K. Posted 5 months ago
love the posters
Gertray D. Posted 5 months ago
I like it. Top 5 Banff. What budget would you need to complete as a film or per TV series
Akash S. Posted 5 months ago
We are habitually frugal filmmakers because we haven't had much to work with in our past projects, so aside from purchasing new equipment, paying actors and crew, visual effects, and other smaller costs we plan to stay under the budget of $1million. The script was written to accommodate a very guerrilla style of filmmaking, so right there we'd cut costs. So to directly answer you question, our budget for a film would be under $1 million, but probably over half a million.
As TV series, we are not sure yet of an exact figure, but we would definitely implement some of the strategies we'd use on the film to cut costs.
If there's a will there's a way Gertray, as filmmakers it's our job to make the impossible possible on screen.

Read the Uprising T.V. Series Proposal! I love the possibilities.
Arcadia could be the future result of the rich get richer leaving the other 99% behind. Arcadia could represent everything that is wrong with today's society of riches and excess. A materialistic society filled with people leading empty meaningless lives, with shallow relationships that focus on "what's in it for me." Greed, politics, back-stabbing drama all breed in Arcadia--the typical amoral society.
Living outside, the Commune represents everything that's important in life and good in society. It becomes the anti-thesis to materialism focusing on real relationships between people who care for each other's well being despite their hard-times.
I love the focus of a t.v. series for adolescents, because they represent the potential future changers of society, and with the hard life lessons that Eli is sure to learn while growing up, the potential audience for the sequel movie/t.v. series also grow-up with Eli.
The Uprising Spin Off is also well positioned to take advantage of the current Teen Reading Trends. According the the Young Adult Library Services, the current teen reading trends continue with dystopias (where everything is unpleasant or bad i.e. totalitarian or environmentally degraded), and post-apocalypse. SInce most teen readers are overwhelmingly female, I like that the Uprising team has introduced a strong female character.
Teens represent a growing market. StageofLife.com is reporting results from a teen survey that shows that 56% of teens go out to movies at a cinema at least once a month, with 11% paying for more than four movies a month. Five interesting movie trends emerged from the survey of 4,885 teens: 1) Inspiration--positive messages motivated them to be and do better; 2) Follow your dreams--no matter what the obstacles, it's possible to achieve your dreams; 3) The Golden Rule--be nice to one another: "don't judge others--period." 4) Give back to others--which the teens did in their communities; and 5) Cherish your time--Material things don't matter as much as love from your friends and family. These are the themes that teens are saying make inspiring movies they like, and given their broad social networks, movies they will recommend to friends.
Given the above, I can see Uprising aligning with today's teens and the platform as being very financially successful for Cinecoup, which is important since they are footing the bill.
Just my two cents.
Akash S. Posted 5 months ago
Hi Ron! This is by far one of my favourite comments ever. The teen audience is huge for us, however not the only one, I believe there is something in here for adults too, but again, I LOVE you insight to this.
We've had so much fun exploring the possibilities for Uprising and where it can go, and I'm glad you share our enthusiasm!

Daylen M. Posted 5 months ago
Scarlock looks badass! Any of these spin-off ideas would be just as sucessful as the original Uprising!
Timothy C. Posted 5 months ago
Thanks man! We LOVED this mission simply because we knew Uprising had a lot of content that could be developed!
Kyle F. Posted 5 months ago
AHHH GO TEAM!!! I'm excited to see this really as anything! It looks exciting and not all just aimless killing. Fighting for a cause always makes a plot better :)
Timothy C. Posted 5 months ago
So glad you appreciate the emotional depth in Uprising! Really wish people could have a look at the script, but the TV series proposal gives a better look into our film too!
Emily H. Posted 5 months ago
You're one of the top project. Rooting for you guys! Love the concept for #BeExpanding!
Akash S. Posted 5 months ago
Thanks Emily that's so kind of you!!
Chado M. Posted 5 months ago
Your universe is definitely the way to go with something as big as this concept. This could easily be a video game too. I like the explanation - something more from the graphic novel, or a mini-trailer/clip from what could be a scene from the possible TV show would have given it more 'oomph' though.
Akash S. Posted 5 months ago
I do agree with you Chado! We would love to get more in depth, unfortunately the time constraints for the missions allow us to only reveal so much, at this point we could only really present as much as you see.
However should you like to learn more about the TV show, we attached a brief proposal as a PDF lower down on this page :)
Parker W. Posted 5 months ago
I hope you guys know this is incredible. I believe your project has the MOST room to expand out of the top 10 contenders, it would be silly for something to not come out of this. The graphic novel, Scarlock poster, and TV series all looks amazing. Scarlock seems like the next new thing hahaha, such an awesome name!!
Akash S. Posted 5 months ago
Thanks Parker! We do believe Scarlock can become a new icon :)
Michelle G. Posted 5 months ago
great job - again! I like that you kept this mission very concise - picked 2 great ideas and explored them in more detail. It's definitely a marketable concept.
June B. Posted 5 months ago
Wicked art work on Scarlock and graphic novel. You guys continue to impress and put everything into your missions. The creativity of this entire team is well-balanced and exceptional. Still can't believe how young you all are and can't imagine how excited you are to make it to top ten! BEST OF LUCK IN MAKING IT ALL THE WAY!!
Patti D. Posted 5 months ago
Well thought out. I like the graphic novel and the TV series ideas. You're a brilliant and creative bunch - good luck!
Akash S. Posted 5 months ago
Thank you Patti! I believe Uprising could make a good TV series should a feature not pan out, so we'll see what happens!
Patti D. Posted 5 months ago
It's a great concept and young adult films, books, & television are very popular right now. I would totally watch the series... even though I'm far from young (or adult). I'm an old adolescent. lol
Cat R. Posted 5 months ago
You make these highly challenging missions look so easy, like a piece of cake. But it's obvious with the detail of your craft, you put in a tons of energy, effort, and enthusiasm. The story has so much spin off potential but, it would be just great in a full feature film as well.
Zachary V. Posted 5 months ago
Thanks Cat, they do take up a ton of our time. And there are only three of us!
Sam I. Posted 5 months ago
SooOOOoooOOOooOOooooooo much spinoff potential! Awesome job guys
Kristina E. Posted 5 months ago
I agree!
Zachary V. Posted 5 months ago
Thanks Sam!
MemeModel K. Posted 5 months ago
Awesome job, totally support this project...
Natalia N. Posted 5 months ago
I'm digging the tv series idea. I think it could definitely work and be a big hit. Also love love love the scar lock poster. It would make a wicked video game I would probably find myself playing.
Akash S. Posted 5 months ago
Haha yes! As we said we believe Scarlock has to potential to grow into an icon, and when that surfaces, even MORE outlets (especially video games!!) open up :)
Mark V. Posted 5 months ago
The Scarlock poster tells me that the characters will definitely experience some changes in your film. The appearance of Eli in Scarlock really shows the character’s evolution and how he has changed in a more advanced way. This got me thinking back to the premise of your trailer and how the characters must overcome personal challenges gaining a larger perspective on the world around them. The evolution of character is definitely a tricky story to tell, but I have absolutely no doubts that you all can pull it off.
P.S. Make sure to remind your artists that they did a wonderful job.
Carol H. Posted 5 months ago
I really like your Uprising TV Series Proposal. It is well thought out with key characters and lots of room for plot and character development.
Timothy C. Posted 5 months ago
Glad you like it! The proposal definitely also gives a bit more insight into our story, if anyone else is interested in learning more!
Zachary V. Posted 5 months ago
Luckily our strong character base allows us to expand into directions like TV series - which always needs characters with a ton of depth. Thanks for your support Carol!
Anita N. Posted 5 months ago
Very cool! So much potential for film and graphic novel media. Great illustrations as well.
Zachary V. Posted 5 months ago
We appreciate your support Anita!
Bari D. Posted 5 months ago
I love the new Poster A featuring the sequel to Uprising. Trilogy would be so much an advantage with a strong flowing story. Very good guys and congrats on making it to the Top 10. Special Effects are a science-fiction best friend for sure. It opens the doors to a brand new venue where in the past it would have been hard press to find. The Revolution has started - Uprising
Akash S. Posted 5 months ago
This has to be one of my favourite comments! From the start we wanted to make something that will evolve and grown past just our original idea
Mark V. Posted 5 months ago
This deserves to be made into a film.
Zachary V. Posted 5 months ago
Thanks Mark!
Eric T. Posted 5 months ago
Everything here is just so cool! I love the sequel poster and the graphic novel idea just makes sense.
Timothy C. Posted 5 months ago
We've got our awesome artists to thank for bringing our visions to life! And I've gotta say, when we first read the mission, we knew Uprising was perfect for expanded content. :)
Zachary V. Posted 5 months ago
We hope so! A graphic novel would be a very fun way to tell the story behind Uprising. Thanks for the kind words, Eric!
Colin T. Posted 5 months ago
I really hope you guys win, I love all of your work. Best of luck, you have my support
Roger G. Posted 5 months ago
I feel as though you guys understand all the CineCoup missions perfectly! Every mission excellently answers the questions that the mission was intended to. The sequel poster looks amazing and it has a sick title too!!
Alexa H. Posted 5 months ago
It looks EXACTLY like Jacqui!! Go Jess woot woot
Akash S. Posted 5 months ago
Make no mistake, Jess knows how to draw haha
Sam L. Posted 5 months ago
Your project has so much potential, making it an ideal project for prospective investors. Also, the concept art is stunning. Great work!
Akash S. Posted 5 months ago
Thank you!! We originally designed something that could expand and become a franchise.
Lindsey M. Posted 5 months ago
SCARLOCK is awesome! So happy you guys made the Top 10, you have what it takes to make Top 5 guys, keep going strong, we're rooting for you!!
Akash S. Posted 5 months ago

Katie T. Posted 5 months ago
Fantastic pitch for spin off potential. And such a professional look and feel to everything you're doing. You sold me.
Akash S. Posted 5 months ago
That was what we intended to do :). We're incredibly flattered you think things are looking professional! Most of our team is under the age of 19!
Joe M. Posted 5 months ago
Congrats on making the top ten. Great work on your spinoff concepts.
Akash S. Posted 5 months ago
Thanks!
Zachary V. Posted 5 months ago
We're glad you enjoy it!
Kerri S. Posted 5 months ago
Wow! You have my attention! Another favourite! :D
Donal O. Posted 5 months ago
You guys weren't kidding. That's a whole lot of work that you put in. Nicely done.
Akash S. Posted 5 months ago
There's a lot of content that can come out of this movie! Our artists did us a huge favour for this mission, wouldn't be anywhere without them! :)
Sheleena B. Posted 5 months ago
That drawing of Scarlock is unbelievable...
Akash S. Posted 5 months ago
All the credit goes to our artist Jessica Woulfe!
Zachary V. Posted 5 months ago
Oh I agree, when I first saw it I was blown away.
Ian G. Posted 5 months ago
Holy! I love all of your spin off ideas! Also, Scarlock looks like a badass.
Akash S. Posted 5 months ago
Haha thanks! Scarlock is a total badass, wouldn't have him any other way.

Tatiana Z. Posted 5 months ago
The medians you're proposing to expand this world into make so much sense with the concept you've pitched. It's very clear to see that you guys had this all worked out from the beginning, and I think it speaks volumes about your professionalism and ambition. Congratulations on top 10, it was very well deserved!!
Akash S. Posted 5 months ago
Thank you Tatiana!
courtney n. Posted 5 months ago
I can honestly not wait to see this on the big screen. You better make this happen, Cinecoup!
Zachary V. Posted 5 months ago
We'll see what happens, we're hoping for the best! Thanks Courtney!
Donald Y. Posted 5 months ago
It seems like a sensible approach to expanding a franchise. This teach is creative with great ideas and a serious approach to making movies within reasonable budgets. Great work, team!
Akash S. Posted 5 months ago
Im glad you think so Donald! We really appreciate that!
Donald Y. Posted 5 months ago
And when I get older, I may learn to spell 'Team' which I do feel is creative. Everyone involved in this project should be pleased with their accomplishment.
Cat R. Posted 5 months ago
You keep impressing! Team Uprising has no shortage of ideas, content, and ability. The talent you are pulling in is extremely capable as well. You keep demonstrating that the sky is the limit! Congrats on Top 10. :-)

Looks like what you guys are doing is brilliant in every nature of design. Especially how you originally rounded your ideas to be more than just a single film but a whole franchise.
Akash S. Posted 5 months ago
That really means a lot! From the beginning we had a whole universe of content in store :P
Lee H. Posted 5 months ago
