Overview

Synopsis

"Left for Dead: The Legend of Wild Bill" is the story of Bill Harris, former camera man of hit outdoor survival show 'Left for Dead'. Spurred by the sudden death of his closest friend, 'Left for Dead' host Bob Catts, Bill embarks on one last adventure in his honour. Though Bill has watched Bob for years, he has never had to endure the elements without Bob's leadership and guidance. As he documents his attempt at a solo escape from the Selkirk Mountain wilderness, Bill's 7 day journey will put his survival skills to the test as he fights to maintain optimism in the face of constant adversity, struggling to ensure that he won't be left for dead.

In early 2010, two of my closest childhood friends told me that they were planning to write, direct, shoot, edit, and star in their own feature length film. Their passion and enthusiasm for the project was inspiring, and I was lucky enough to play a supporting role. Now, with the same passion, we are teaming up to make our latest project, "Left for Dead", a huge success.

I became obsessed with the project, and knew that I had to see it it through to fruition. With my second script, I knew we had to raise the bar. Now, teamed with the same 2 people, it is our goal to make "Donald Kee Films" a household name.

This film just has to get made. Hilarious, the funniest trailer in the entire competition! With the popularity of survival shows and how seriously those shows take themselves, this film is a much needed relief. Keep up your great work, your team will be successful hopefully sooner than later.

This foolish man somehow seems to have some redeeming qualities. If it were up to Darwin, this man *would* be left for dead. But deep in my heart, I'd like to see him overcome his mental shortcomings and make it out alive.

The lead is a funny guy but I'm not sure what the movie's about. What's his goal and what's the obstacle preventing him from achieving that goal? Because this isn't clear I'm not really invested in it.

I love the concept. I think it was very funny and entertaining. But I don't see this being a million dollar feature. This is something I probably wouldn't go to the theatres for but I would Definitely watch on tv.

I'm not sure if this is the kind of film that I would watch, but for the audience I think they're going for, it's pretty solid. The scenery does a lot to sell the project and they seem to have a good idea of how to make the most of the minimalistic, single character story. My main concern is that the trailer is just one joke (the fish out of water) repeated over and over again. I'd like to see how they can create an arc for this character rather than just show him constantly fumbling out of his element. Good potential though, even if it doesn't win, I'm sure they can get some financing from Alberta Tourism for the gorgeous scenery porn alone.

Made me laugh and was entertaining, but I can't see this thing going past either a short YouTube film or a webseries. I don't really see it being something that could be made into a full feature film and retain the audience's attention for a full 90+ minutes.

I enjoyed the trailer. Bill sets out on a journey to pay homage to his friend but in doing so, I think he may come to understand himself better on this journey of self discovery. What are Bill's limitations? What can he overcome? What does Bill come to understand about himself? Bill may be crazy to attempt this feat without the skills and knowledge of a dear departed friend, but it is a great tribute nonetheless. Will Bill survive this harrowing journey of both a physical and mental nature? Great trailer and really funny! Can't wait to see the full length version. Everyone should check it out!

Loads of potential! Made me laugh. You must change your graphics, though. They're all wrong for the tone of the film. Also, the titles too generic and along with the graphics, makes it easy to confuse this for some horror film and pass over it without watching the trailer. Hope you get the chance to make it.

The scope, ambience, mood, mise-en-scene of this project hint at a freshness, a new edge... the crossing and blending of cinematic tropes and traditions, the inside-outside dynamic and the understated charisma of lead Matt Thomas will make you a believer: this has the potential to go supernova. This is an astute project from young filmmakers who have a chance to do some damage. Watch out.

HILARIOUS! This guy reminds me of a younger Jim Carrey, when he was awesome and doing roles like Ace Ventura. Plus survivor man is huge in Canada, people would eat this movie up! You should get Les Stroud to make a cameo.

Seems like a lot of heart and soul went into this project. Cannot believe they were crazy enough to go up to those mountains on their own! Cannot wait to see what that Grizzly is going to do to that gangly guy!

Really intrigued by this project and hopefully it is a great character study about a man looking to discover himself.
